Radio Lumière Declaration of Faith

MEBSH Logo

Radio Lumière is owned by the Evangelical Baptist Mission of South Haiti, and like all of its institutions, It Believes:

1. That the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) are verbally inspired of God, without error in the original manuscripts; that the Bible is the supreme authority in matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Psalm 119:130)

2. In one eternal God existing in three persons equally omniscient, omnipresent; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 3:16, 17; John 14:16, 10:30)

3. That Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary, is truly God and truly man. He lived a perfect life and died a sufficient atonement for the sin of the world. He rose from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God where He is the only mediator and high priest of the believers. (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:36 1 Peter 2:4)

4. In the personal, bodily and imminent return of Jesus Christ. The Church which is His body will be raised to meet Him in the air, before the millennium on earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

5. That the Holy Spirit has a personality; that He convicts men of sin, that He leads in a life victorious over sin, that he baptises those who believe in the Savior at the moment of their conversion; that He distributes gifts to every Christian for the service of God, and that he seals until the day of redemption. (Every Christian is marked with the seal of the Holy Spirit.) (John 16:7-15; 1 Corinthians 2:9-14, 6:19, 20; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13.14)

6. In the reality of Satan, the enemy of God and of men (Job 12:6-7); that he is not omnipotent, and that his fate is already decided.

7. That man was created innocent, but by his voluntary act of sin, physical and spiritual death spread to all men. Man is entirely incapable of saving himself, but by faith in the sacrifice of Christ can be saved and justified. (Romans 3:23, 24, Acts 13:38, 39)

8. In the security and eternal happiness of the redeemed (John 10:28, 29; Romans 8:18)

9. In the eternal punishment of the lost in the lake of fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. (Revelation 20:11-15) (?may also list Rev. chapter 20:10 and especially Matthew 25:41)

10. That the church, the body of which Christ is the head, was formed on the day of Pentecost and is composed of all believers from that day until the return of Christ. (Ephesians 1:3-6, 22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:14; Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8, 2:42-47)

11. That the Lord instituted two ordinances: Baptism, symbolizing the believer’s union with Christ in His death and resurrection (Matthew 28:18, Romans 6:3-6) and Communion, symbolizing His body and His blood offered as a sacrifice for our sins. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Verse of the week

And Jesus said unto them, “Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place,’ and it shall remove. And nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Mat 17: 20)

Thought of the week

"Be kind to people on your way, because you will need them on your return"
